Who we are
Husband and wife duo, we are Mark and Kandace Kneeshaw and live in Riverdale Municipality, which is in Western Manitoba, Canada. We absolutely LOVE where we live- with an incredible view right from our front step of the Little Saskatchewan River Valley (hence the name ‘Little River’ Design). Kandace has way too many design ideas that Mark continues to bring to life, so we decided to make a living out of it.
Our values
Our goal is not to consume and sell, but to recreate and repurpose, with quality and versatility in mind. Consumerism is the popular trend in our world, and we believe that every item has a story to tell. Every fallen tree has a history, every old brick uncovered in the dirt, every piece of barnboard has seen life pass by and held purpose. The metal from our local supplier has been melted down from used scraps.
We try our hardest to purchase supplies from local small businesses. You will never find us scoping out a perfectly healthy tree to mill for our own fancy. And we cry a bit inside when we hear of a barn burning or see trees being bulldozed for that one extra acre. We marvel at the beauty of nature and respect it’s greatness. You’ll find that no two items in our shop are alike- because no two trees are alike! Each piece is totally unique and handmade to order, with the exception of a few in stock items we keep on hand for showing.
