Supply Shortage…

If you have been following us on social media, it’s obvious we haven’t been very active lately! I thought I should give you a quick update as to why.

As I had mentioned in the most recent blog, my current shop has very limited space. Currently most of my tools are out in an open steel bale shed, and with Manitoba winters this is not practical, seeing as we are going through one of the coldest and snowiest winters we’ve had in a long time! That has made for some very miserable working conditions. I am currently working on converting part of this steel shed into a new workspace, which I will make a post on in the future about the process of framing the inside.

Beginning stages of framing our steel shed.

Also, I am completely out of grey barnboard, so creating new and custom clocks and home décor have come to a grinding halt for the time being. It has proven difficult to locally source good quality, non-warped barnboard, as most people still use their old barn or shed for storage or livestock and don’t want to part with it. Fortunately just this week, I have found an old building nearby that the land owner is wanting GONE! However, I won’t be able to get to it until the snow is gone.

This is the structure we will be dismantling in the spring.

So, until the snow melts and I can get my hands on that barnboard, I will be plugging away on building the new shop. Keep your eyes peeled for building progress updates!
